I have the Pentair Easy Touch panel with the Screen Logic 2 automation system. What I am wondering is if its possible to program into the schedules for my variable speed pump to run at different speeds?

I have learned through YouTube videos how to use most of my equipment, but that one question eludes me. My contractor was useless as he admitted after completing the work that he recommended watching YouTube videos and reading my manuals because he really didn't know anything about the equipment, he just installs. Very different from the promise of a "Pool School" session that he would provide that after install was complete that was part of the sales pitch, but I digress.

So using the Screen Logic app I have control over most functions I have found out, but not the speed of the pump. I have discovered I can manually change the speed of the pump using a different app. I use the Screen Logic Config app and the Setup Intelliflo function to adjust the speed of the pump as I wish. It would be nice if I could do it all with the same app and have it scheduled to run at one speed at some times and another at other times.

I'm sure our resident EasyTouch expert will be replying soon, but below is something to get you started.

In the EasyTouch you assign a pump speed to a circuit and then you schedule the circuit.

You can have multiple circuits being run at one time and the pump will run at the highest speed among those circuits.

Post your setup pages with your circuits and speeds and tell us what you want to do.

Frank,

The whole point of having an EasyTouch and ScreenLogic is so that the system will change pump speeds based upon what the system is being told to do.

As a simple example: When in the Pool mode you want the pump to run at 1200 RPM, but when you turn the waterfall on, you want the pump to speed up. If you look at the setup page than Allen provided above, you can see that is exactly what will happen.

The key to the whole thing is that when the pump sees two or more speed requests, at the same time, it will always run the fastest one.

Each Circuit can only have one speed. So, to add additional speeds you need to use Feature Circuits. If you look at the set-up page again, you can see "Skim Low" Circuit and a "Skim High" Circuit. Both of these are Feature Circuits that have been renamed. You can name them anything you want, as the name is just so you can remember what they do.

Please let us know if this does not make sense.

Thanks,

Jim R.
