My inground 18x36 kidney vinyl liner pool is turning 13 years old. I just put a deposit down on a new liner to be installed for April of next year. My issue is that my white aluminum coping has a multitude of small holes in it aside from needing a fresh coat of paint. The pool company said they would sand it down and paint, but how do we fix/fill these holes? My pool has had a salt water generator since new. The pool company doing the liner replacement is not the original builder. The pool company thinks that because I never had an annode rode plumbed in that maybe the salt water attacked the aluminum coping - but it's just a theory. I have no evidence of rust and I constantly check chemical levels. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
