So I am trying to close my Coleman 22ft above ground pool, but was on vacation for 3 days came back to an alagae bloom. have used 2 bags of hypo cal shock for 13,500 gallon pool and also have used 4 jugs of liquid chlorine. We have a robot vac that doesn't do very well and the dark green alagae is on bottom of bool. My other issue is I have the Main Access Pool Ladder that behind the steps there are Algae behind the steps as well. Do I use the manual vac first and get up as much as I can on pool floor, Or what is best way to remedy this problem to close the pool. The thing is next pool season I don't want to have to drain pool all the way and use a shop vac on the pool b/c it takes way to long to do this process being just me. Any advice or help would be appreciated. I am new so please bear with me if I don't seem to know what i'm talking about. I have a intex c2500 cartridge pump that circulates 2800gph, change filter weekly. My chemical routine was shock once a week, run robot 2 times a week, change skimmer basket out. Then Test and make sure that PH and alkalinity was at 7.2, and then I would have 2 chlorine pucks in floater and one in skimmer, along with Arm and Hammer clear and balance tabs. I would also test water 2 a week, one with strip and then liquid to compare. The issue is Pool is on hot days getting my Chlorine levels down to 1ppm and normally it stays at 2ppm when it's not 97+. Thank you again. Appreciate the advice. Using HTH Agaecide once a week, HTH Hypo Call Shock. Sams club 3" chlorine tabs, and Arm and Hammer Clear and Balance Tabs.
the issue is behind the steps walking down, into the pool.
