Our tropic blue mini StoneScapes just went in a few days ago, and looked great...before it was filled with water. Now the mid-deep areas seem far too vibrant a blue, not what we expected. It's fine viewed from the rest of the backyard but when you get up close, it's almost bright turquoise. No chemicals in pool yet. Please tell me this will calm down a bit!!

Hi and welcome to TFP.

Yeah new plaster does not show it's true colors for a bit. Some take about 3 months, some take a bit longer.

What start up are you using? Have you been brushing the pool?
No, our contractor hasn't told us anything about brushing the pool. Will be talking with him tomorrow. I am really concerned that he hasn't said or done anything about brushing it, now that I have read more. Is this the process that will ensure the color is more realistic? Right now it looks like a chemical spill!

Hey Marie and Welcome !!!!

I wouldn't worry about it because you're going to see 500 shades over the season. The weather, season and time of day will make it hard to see the same shade twice.

GIve it time before judging. The pool changes color after the chemicals are added and the plaster cures.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! I'd like input on how important brushing is to the color turning out right. I'm concerned that my (experienced) contractor never mentioned it. Anyone else had this experience with Tropics Blue?
