Hi! I am hoping I can find some help! I have a TriStar 950 Vs on my new pool I just built. Everything worked fine with no issues for about 2-3 weeks then I started to get some bubbles coming out of my return and checked for suction leaks with no luck. Then just yesterday the pump started surging pretty bad at high RPM. I am at a loss on what yo do next. I have lubed every o ring before the pump&filter. I have isolated each valve to each skimmer with no luck. I verify water level is correct. Verify there are no obstruction on the lines.(When I built everything was verify good with a pressure test 40psi for 24 hrs)

I am running a 3" suction line (each skimmer is 3" for a total of 3 skimmer). If anyone knows a tip or truck I would greatly appreciate it on any information to get this fixed.

Pump will prime fine with no issues or surging. Once pump is primed and it drops the speed to 1650 it stays primed with no surging. Once I raise it past 2500 it develops a air bubble on the to of the lid and starts to pulsate. (Just started doing this a few days ago.) Any idea of what I could be or what to look for or check!

It is likely that your weir doors are not working properly, or your water level is too low.

  1. Ensure that weir doors swing freely.
  2. Ensure that the water level is 1/2 way up the skimmer opening.
Report back.

I have checked both. Water level is around 1/2 of skimmer height above the arrows on the skimmer face and the doors move freely on all skimmers.
