help this is driving me nuts.

I don't think just leaving the stairs out of the pool for a few days will do it. Our pool was clean, and basically clear, but just slightly dull. Could not get that sparkly water back. We have Confer stairs. Pulled them, cleaned them, let them sit for a couple of days before we got them back in the water. During that time, the water got sparkly clean. Put them back in and a few days later we had the dull water again. Pulled the stairs, took them apart and soaked them in one of those little kiddie pools with a high bleach concentration for 24 hours. Some nasty stuff came out of those stairs! We've had them back in for a month now and still have sparkly water.

Thanks, that is good to know. I will be sure to clean mine real good with bleach and I will just use the ladder until then.

:goodpost:

Exactly this. You need to get some chlorine into those stairs. :)

Update. My water is looking real good. Nice and blue but still cloudy. I started a overnight test and after getting my fc count I tested cc and it showed zero. What does that mean? Ph was 7.2 fc was 14. I didn't test cya as I had to add some water do to backflushing so often but it was 30
