I think I see the problem!!! There's a giant jellyfish in the pool!!! LOL

OK, some help please. Problems with translation means we have dosed pool with around 7 litres of hydrochloric acid at 22%. From what I read this is used in pools to reduce pH, so hoping not too serious, but anyone advice please?

Do you know what is your current pH?
You can use sodium carbonate (washing soda / soda ash) to neutralise the acid if necessary.

Thanks. Struggling to get a consistent read at the moment, will have another go. My OTO kit says its OK, but the test strips register it as very low.

The OTO gives more reliable results.

You are on the right track-Finding TFP and asking questions!

Now do not bother with the strips any more. They tend to do more harm than good since their results are so far off (kind of like the pool stores hehe). Stick with the drop test for right now.

As soon as you can find one of the test listed in my signature below.

As you can see you are going in the right direction using the chlorine. If you can keep on with TFP you will be set for as long as you own the pool!

Not a great camera, but as you can see we are about back to swimming, fc is around 15, so need that to come down some more. Taken just over a week, with FC at 25 ish, seemed like a long time. Thanks all on here for the help given.

Pool is looking great, congratulations! Now I can see the compass clearly.

Just remember to take it easy with the tablets and granular chlorine, because of the CYA.
