Help - replaced pump and now losing flow/circulation

Is it possible that vibration of the pump caused the union to “slip” out of position during the overnight and then that caused the issue again?

I also agree with PoolNewb2020 to ensure your PVC cement is set up properly. Ensure all pipe and joints are dry. Prime the pipe and joint. While primer is still wet, cement the surfaces. Press pipe into fitting, rotate at least 90 degrees and hold together for at least 30 seconds. Larger PVC pipe wants to “back out” of the fitting, so holding it in place during set up is critical.

Since you had a hard time fitting it all together, maybe the glue didn't get full coverage and let go. But since your last try did make a difference, I would think it is the area where the leak is and would concentrate there.

thanks for the help. I cut out the union and redid the piping on the suction side and all is back to normal!
