Help on super high chlorine

Really? This is new to me, thank you! I will go get some. I assume at pool store?
Walmart or local drug store will be cheaper.

Or be patient and wait for FC to drop 5 ppm more.
With CYA 60, SLAM level FC is 24 - and is perfectly safe to swim in as long as you can see the entire bottom of the pool (swimmer safety).

Morning. Quick update.
Fc is now at 11
Ph went down a bit at 7.2
TA is at 60 (went down a lot since few weeks ago)

Keeping swgc off for another day or until FC drops below 10

Any suggestion to raise ph or alkalinity or just wait? If yes what do i use?

Last thing the Cl Br on the scale is mustard yellow so way out of range, i guess is due to high FC? CC is 0,5

Thanks

When the time comes:

20 mule borax for raising Ph ($6 for 4 lbs in any laundry aisle)

Baking soda for raising TA ($10 for 13 lbs at the warehouse clubs.... a lifetime supply)

But 60 TA is darn near perfect for a SWG and any 7 Ph is equally OK. Keep an eye on them if the stay solid or drift. The Ph will likely rise on its own and the TA will probably stay put.

It's either CL or Br..... it says 5 (Cl) - 10 (Br) You're not using Bromine so it's only the left column. And yeah. It's no help over 5 and not exact under 5, or accurate. Just use the powder test for exact results. Down the road when you're all but sure you have plenty of FC in there, feel free to spot check it with the block that it's taxicab yellow.

Should i wait to turn on swcg until fc is at approx 8 or better to turn on now at low setting like 20%?

Are you patient? Because it takes longer to drift down with the SWG adding a little. That's about it.

Half a dozen : let it drift to target range and then turn the swg back on

Six: turn the SWG on low and drift down into target range slower, then ramp up production to match the daily loss near target range.

Both ways achieve the number 1 mission of never sniffing minimum FC. :)

Hi guys.
So the only level that is now a bit low is CYA at 50. FC remains at 10 so a bit high.
While i still keep swcg off, should i raise cya? What do you recommend i use, if yes? I read here about some products being expensive.
Thank you

I'd leave it, you are getting close to the end of the season and FC demand is dropping. You will lose most of it over the winter.

Just start over in the spring with 60 CYA. When you demonstrate you can maintain the proper FC for your CYA, and maintain it consistently, then raise it.
