Help me please, I'm confused.

Hi everyone, love TFP and it's helped me have a gorgeous pool for five years now with minimal hard work.

Here is my story -- I had to close my pool dirty last fall. Lost power to pool pump and SWG and pool got leaves and was a mess and no one could come fix the power and it was freezing each night and I was worried about the pipes. So I drained it down to empty the pipes and covered it until now. Maybe that wasn't best but here we are.

Just got new power to pump and SWG and took the cover off. Full of leave and water is green. I refilled pool from the well over the last three days and had the robot vacuum running multiple times a day. I started the pump last night and after three hours tested the water.
pH LOW (very yellow) FC 0 CYA 40 TA 50 Salt 2200 water temp is 60 and SWG is off.
I planned to start a SLAM tonight because I am home now tonight and all day tomorrow. Last night I went ahead and added a whole box of Borax Mule and three bags of salt I had at home. I also added two gallons of liquid chlorine because I couldn't help myself.
Pool has been circulating for the past 24 hours and I've ran vacuum twice more and kept skimmer clean and backwashed once this morning.

Now I'm ready to start the official SLAM so I tested again. 99% leaves are out, water is fairly clear but pool is green.
pH up to 7.0 and FC 10

Can you explain why only two gallons of bleach last night brought FC from 0 to 10 and none seemed to get consumed in the past 24 hours?
Any body have any other suggestions as I start to SLAM?

Testing errors and mixing. We recommend running the pump for 24 hours before testing to make sure the water is mixed.

No other suggestions, but get going!!!

Post pics so we can see the green.

Does your well have high iron content?

Had you run the equipment for a while before your initial FC test of 0?

If not, I'm wondering if you had some FC but not near the top when you tested.

Looks like pool water with a metals problem, not algae. Emerald green clear water is caused by iron.

I concur with @ajw22 on the iron. Entirely possible. However, you have visible algae (see below). Follow the slam process until you have no more visible algae, dead or alive, you pass OCLT and CC <=.5.

You might review these and put some polyfill in the skimmers:

Ok, I will read up on the iron. I didn't think it was that as I fill from this same well every year and it's never done this before and water goes through a house filter designed to remove iron. Thanks for the input.

Thank you for your help. As I replied to the other post, I didn't think it was iron because this is the same well I've used for five years and the water is run through the house filter that is designed to remove iron. I will read your help and try that of course and you guys know best.
What you see in your picture might just be dirt as a lot of dirt fell in the pool from the recent repair. When I brush that area the stuff puffs up and floats away and settles back down. Either way I am continuing the SLAM process but a bit discouraged as I am not using hardly any chlorine so it doesn't seem to be getting rid of much.
