So we slammed the pool after opening and it cleared up but is now hazy and I tested per below. I know I need to add the chemicals identified but wondered if there was a proper order to do so or timing in between. Also I have some “ph down” from Leslie’s and wondered if I could use that in lieu of dry acid. Finally can I use pool shock in lieu of bleach when chlorine is called for or is there a problem with that? We stopped using the chlorine tablets last year bc they messed up the balance.

Test again. If your CYA is 0, get an aquarium ammonia test kit and test for ammonia. Add a gallon of bleach and test in 30 minutes and see how much chlorine you have.

From what I read seems so strange it went down so fast even with the water clean up we did. But I did the test twice the first time. Couldn’t see black dot at 60. Was worried acid was high so was happy when we cleaned pool a bit to waste to add some new water. I have performed the test again and I can see clearly with a full vial. What is best type of stabilizer to buy?
