Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to
NIkiBelle, You have a great looking pool. It is very rewarding to see. I agree that the flock at the end helped. You will recall I was a little reluctant to see you try it, but I was wrong. See, we all keep learning. You can probably cut down even more on the time you run your pump and save some electricity. If you know how many gallons per min the pump is supposed to move you can calculate how long it has to run to turn the water over one time. Take your 10,700 gallons and divide by the number of gallons per min and multiply by 60 and you know how many hours the pump has to run to turn the water over once. It is recommended to turn the water over at least once per day. As I have told you before, I like to sneak up on settings when I am fine tuning. So what I would do is run the pump for long enough to turn the water over a couple of times and then begin reducing the time and watching the pool. I think you will begin to see a change in the water somewhere between one turn over and one and half. Anyway, you can find out what you need to do for your pool and your climate this way. Also, many divide the total time into two and run the pump for half the time two times a day. This keeps the pool water from sitting idle so long each day. This works real well if you have a timer. Keep having fun and making everyone in your neighborhood jealous.
