Yes those numbers are coming in line nicely as predicted. It won't be long now ;). I believe you should be seeing a major change very soon now that you got all that crud out. My big change happened overnight at about the same point that you are in your conversion.

Yes I'm going to try a stiff brush for a bit and see how that works and I might try some fine grit sandpaper if that doesn't work.

It's only day 11! You're doing awesome! I've let my my pool get into a rather nasty position a couple times over the past 3 years. As Jenson said, after I got the crud out, the filter did miracles overnight. I was shocked at the difference one night made! Crossin' my fingers that you're at this point!

They are in line nicely as predicted? LOL i had no clue what they would be. I expected my CC to go way up and my FC to come flying down. But truly having been in the pool today and vacuuming all day i have seen nada algae. THAT alone makes me proud.

I'll test again in just a bit for my last test tonight. Tomorrow i work so since the sun will eat up much of my bleach anyway, i will just let the pump filter as much as it can and start on it tomorrow evening when i get home.

I guess i can't wrap my head around how those leaves in the bottom kept my water so cloudy after all of that bleaching.

If, by some huge miracle, i get up in the am and my pool is clear or even clearer, ya'll better grab some ear plugs cause i will shout so loud you will hear me, no matter where you live.

Did ya'll see my post about being in the pool today and feeling sand on my feet? Is that normal for sand filters to emit some sand into the pool? Looks like we have close to the same pool.

YAY!! The two suites have a multi-thousand dollar cappuccino machine in them!! And of course private Jacuzzis out on the private decks!

If it's just a little sand, I wouldn't worry about it until you can see it. It might also be dead algae, again, I wouldn't worry about it until you can see it. Unless you think there's enough to bury treasure in it...

Just to keep your spirits up, here's my pool last year after life interrupted my pool maintenance for 2 months.

Sand filters shouldn't emit sand back into the pool. If I'd have to guess the sand you were feeling was bits of dirt and such that may have been on the leaves when they entered the pool. We often get this in our pool with a DE filter, but a quick vacuum cleans it right up.

Oh ok. And you say DE filter because it's a sand filter you put DE in? Or is it something different?

I'd wait until tomorrow. Sand filters ROCK at filtering out the big stuff where DE filters get clogged up often. Let the sand do it's job of taking care of the dirty work....and then let the DE clean up the little messes.

Looks like a storm is on the way but i still put in a gallon.

Now i'll be done until tomorrow evening. Should i test in the am before i go to work? Will that tell ya'll anything that you need to know? LOL

That's great Niki. It came up to basically 15 and stayed over an hour. If this stays a trend that would be an awesome sign you've basically cleared all the organics out of the pool. It might change a bit if your son stirs. Yes test and dose chlorine in the morning.
