Thanks techguy that was nice and i hope you are right.

Again don't know what i'd do without ya'll and this site. I'd still be in a green swamp.

Ok Kias, and Txmat and all.... i'm off to find nuts.

I'm gonna go to my mom's and get one of her nuts. She is like McIver.(sp?)

She has little jars of everything. All organized. I'm sure she has the perfect nut.

So, i'm praying the hard part is over, if i can just scew them screws tight enough into those nuts. LOL

Let me tell you Leebo...it was greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen. The pic doesn't do it justice.

BTW...and just of note incase ya'll help another damsel in distress at some point.

When i was putting in that sand and the white tube in the middle needed to be covered? I tried duck tape but it wouldn't stick good, so.....

If you get duck tape or any tape and use a pony tail holder to wrap around it? It seals it perfectly!!!! I guess a rubber band would work as well.

Ok question here too...

I've got the lid on. I backwashed. I rinsed. The water did great...great suction and looked perfect. I go put it on filter and pressure reading is 0 and it's barely moving. Did i do something wrong or does it take awhile to build?

Niki, I am concerned about your pressure problem. I can't recall it taking any time to build pressure so either it didn't are it was very short. I would shut the pump off and pull the multiport and try to see if there is a clog in the pipes. Also, if you have a spider gasket under the Multiport and I assume you do then examine it and make sure it is not torn and then put it back where none of the holes are covered. I don't think it is the gauge as a bad gauge does not effect the return.

Wow started reading this thread this morning at work and finally got through it all! Shh don't tell anyone :wink: This thread is amazing. Long and very informative. Niki you have been the perfect example of persistence and belief in this method. I did not convert from Baquacil and I am glad I didn't. I may have torn my hair out by now or drowned myself in the green monster if it were me. But add me to the long list of supporters and backers of Miss Bleach Shorts! :goodjob: Once this pool is balanced in check it will be sooo! easy from here on out :party: I was so fortunate I found this site when I did. I bought our first pool late last season had it installed and put my faith in the local pool store. However, as big DIY guy I wanted to take control and find an easy and inexpensive way to manage my pool, and WHALA! TFP there you were popping up on my computer screen as it was meant to be (the pool gods must like me) Ever since then it has been truly a TROUBLE FREE POOL.

So you go girl! stick with it and you will soon be swimming with the rest of us.

and of course we are all here for ya!

Oh wow! Dh brought Margarita mix home after work today. Without even a hint, request, or knowledge of our 'swim bet', Nicki. Hmmm...
Did you get your regent order yet? I'm still waiting for mine. Argh. And in the meantime I've used up my R-0871, so relying today on the K-1000 kit for chlorine test. Figure if I keep it REALLY dark yellow, or orange that'll have to do.

Geepers, you're a real trouper. Txmat lost me on the 'spider gasket under the Multiport'. Just think what a PRO you will be!!!!!

Hi Articfox918!

Baquacil can make maintenance easy, least it did for me. For several years. It will get to the point when it won't anymore. During my own conversion, I read somewhere...(I will HAVE to find the article) that said even the Baqua manufacturers recommend converting to chlorine 'for a year' when then happens. The Baqua builds up in the pool after several years and causes issues that make it hard to maintain clear water. <---Just thought I'd mention it. As I said, I was happy with my Baqua pool for many years. :-D

When I find that article I will share it.

Whether Baqua or Chlorine, you are right on this being the BEST site! Lots of helpful, knowledgeable people and information! ~~~ Not to mention, some great stories/reading material!

I took alittle nap. It was 100 here today and all that work bout made me sick i think. But, after hydrating and rest i feel a little better.

I checked the pool. It didn't seem to be sucking at all. I backwashed and when i did, it is now sucking again.

Txmat...i'm with Jule. What the heck is a multiport and what is a spider gasket. I didn't see anything in there except that white tube and the little tubes.

Thank you for this post!!!! I love my lurkers and i need all the support i can get.

Be glad you didn't have to convert. It was not/is not easy. Well for me anyway. But, i am trying. I'm like that little train going up that mountain that says "i think i can, i think i can". Time will tell LOL
