First off a quick thank you for all those involved in posting questions and answers on TFP. I have been a member for over a year and have found countless posts with good information about maintaining pools.

The last couple times I have vacuumed my pool with a robotic vacuum there has been some strange items in the basket that I can't seem to identify.

Pool water seems to be doing fine. We opened the pool a month ago and haven't had any issues other than water alkalinity but I have been adjusting that lower and lower as the ph goes up I drop it down with acid and aerate. It started at 150 or so.
The pool is an 18' Bestway with 1500gph Sand filter using poly balls.

Has anyone seen anything like this in their pool or elsewhere? They are very soft and to me look like tiny loofahs but very squishy and will almost disintegrate when touched. Is this some sort of algae cluster?

I don't plan on trying one but since I squished one with my finger I can reliably say it won't cut the roof of your mouth like Cap'n will

Thanks PoolStored, that looks pretty close. I think I'll check the backyard Maple tree a lil better to see if any caterpillars.
