Help - Frozen Diverter Valves

Freezing temps in north Texas starting yesterday. My equipment went to Freeze mode but I noticed that my spa wasn't running. The pump is running and I see the fountain in the spa going off and on. I just went out and the diverter valves for the spa have ice on them from the frozen rain we got last night. How can I safely address this? Is it as simple as hitting the ice with a rubber mallet or pouring warm water on them? TIA

I would try some warm water slowly over the valve to see if that frees it up. If it does, perhaps wrap it with something after that to keep it from happening again during this weather event.
