Hello all! I just bought a house in Richmond Hill, Ga that has a small 8200 gallon in ground fiberglass pool. It is currently using chlorine, but I want to convert to Salt Water (local pool store is trying to sell me on a Frog???).
I helped my mom convert her pool to salt a few years back, and it has been amazing. So- onto the barrage of questions!
1. Is salt water still the best way to go or is the new frog better?
2. I put a T-15 in my moms pool, but its 30k gallons, that would be too much for my small 8200 gallon pool, right?
3. I ordered the TF-Pro Salt with SmartStir for a test kit, is this the right kit?
4. Can you all educate me a little on my equipment? I've only used Hayward - this is a newer variable speed pump and I have no idea how to use it.

Welcome to the forum!
SWCG is far superior. The Frog thing adds metals to the water which can stain, turn blonde hair colors, etc. Stay far away from it.
A T15 will work. Or a T9. Depends on how long you plan to run the pump each day.
That is a great kit. Good choice!
You have a Sta Rite (Pentair) Supermax VS. It is a 1.5 hp variable speed pump.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool

I'm sure they are. A very profitable item that creates residual income by forcing you to come back to them for the proprietary packs of silver and chlorine.

Had one on the pool when I got my house. When things went south I found TFP and ripped that thing out. Water quality went up, price came down. That was 13 years ago, I'm very happy with my decision.

Welcome to TFP!
