Glad to have found this forum, I've been running an above-ground pool for 2 years now, started with a 14x8 Bestway pool but now looking to upgrade and improve the whole setup this year. Swimming season here in inland Northern CA is probably mid-April to mid-October, with some solar blanket/heaters. Our summers are scorching hot and incredibly sunny which for me the last 2 years has coincided with numerous algae problems, hoping to avoid that this year. My goals for this year are:
- Get a bigger above ground pool
- Find some way to make it more inviting to get into, larger steps/decking etc.
- Find a good (non-permanent) solar heating solution
- Get better at maintenance and avoid the algae when it hits the 100's
