Hello Everyone,
I live in Mesa, AZ and have been testing water and following a local pool store recommendation for two years. The CYA jumped after one year up to 150 this last week. I was using pucks and shock "Chlor Brite" (which also adds CYA from Leslies, and after reading on this forum I am draining the pool now! (Year 1 we drained in winter due to 300+ CYA when we moved in). I wish I had come here two years ago but am excited to learn, and plan to do basic upkeep/maintenance myself. TF 100 Kit on order and I expect to start refilling the pool this evening. To start off fresh as I begin to refill I plan to buy some granular CYA, Liquid Chlorine, and Muriatic Acid for starters. Going to keep an eye on the refill so I can get my pool details below narrowed down from 10-12k to a more accurate number for calculations.
Details:
Approx 10-12K gallons
Plaster Liner
Hayward Cartridge Filter
