You totally cracked me up!! Thank you for that, I needed a good laugh.
Thanks for talking bmoreswim down off the ledge, Kim!
*sigh*
The girls just left with the babies. the oldest 2 have pre-k at 1245. I have to get ready for work soon, but wanted to update you all.
First, I want to say that although I don't REALLY know you all, I freaking LOVE YOU PEOPLE! Thank you for the prayers and encouragement. Seriously.
So, i guess when the yard was measured, it was ASSUMED that the fence was square on the back of the yard. Well, not so. PB tells me I only lost 6" of pool width, but somehow it's 11' ft wide and not the 14' wide that was quoted. I realize that nothing can be done about the easement restriction. It is what it is. But, since it is 3' narrower than was planned for, I had to lose the bench on the back wall and my stairs off the bubbler shelf because these left us with just over 7' wide at the middle. They had in their plans that the bubbler shelf was 8' x6' and sticking out into the pool, when I kept saying I wanted it set back and centered in the patio under the overhang. I got them to reduce the size of it to 6'x6' (big enough for a chair and small table, or 2 really narrow chairs), but they would only move it back into the patio another foot. It could have still been 8x6 but they won't put it under the overhang saying it will cause moisture and mold issues on the overhang ceiling. I'm not convinced but I didn't push the point. I am not good at not being a doormat. I think i may have mentioned this before....
My stairs are now triangles off one corner and the step height is going to be too high. There is a triangular shaped "seat" in the opposite corner. The pool looks really tiny and I'm disappointed. I had come to love what I had designed.
Trying to focus on the positive.... I now have to buy far less Lightstreams tile, maybe I'll get a credit (less pool) that I can apply to what I will owe them out of pocket, or maybe make the pergola bigger...idk
At the end of the day, I'm still getting a pool, the yard will be prettier than it is currently, and I am blessed beyond measure.
Here's some pictures from today.
The babies loved the big trucks, all the noise and waving at the men. A good time was had by all!
I made a quick drawing of the new layout. it's not great, I forgot to put the triangle seat in the other corner by the firepit, and the shelf is a bit closer to the overhang.
In one of the above pictures you can see on the patio where they redrew the shelf a little further back. It almost makes it look like a step.
Gotta head to work. I'll check in when I can.
