Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

Yeah, sneaky bringing them in through the back door. You must have been trouble as a teen!

Here's what I found at Sam's

They also had some really nice Sunbrella fabric 10' tilting aluminum pole umbrellas for around $115 or so

Those extra large anti-gravity chairs are AWESOME! You can fall asleep in one of those if you're not careful!

They are great chairs! I had the pleasure of using those at a hotel in Hawaii on the beach. Very comfortable!

Heehee, you must have been talking to someone....
I only ditched school once in my life and got totally busted immediately! However, there were LOTS of other things I did manage to get away with, unfortunately :) But, alls well that ends well!

Be careful with HOA rules. When you live in a HOA community, there are actual legal Covenants, Conditions, Restrictions and Easements that are filed as restrictions on the deed to the property. If you make any changes to the property that violates those restrictions in anyway it can become a real legal problem. Although many poeple try to sneak things by the HOA, they can be in for real problems later. In particular selling such a property can be a real headache, that is if it isn't one before that. Ask me how I know.

It's not that the poeple running a HOA are trying to be difficult, it's just that they have a legal responsibility to enforce all the rules and a legal liability if they don't. The number one reason HOAs find themselves subject to a law suit is NOT enforcing the rules.

Curious about HOA stuff. How do you know? Did you have a run in with your HOA?

So much good stuff!! You are going to be completely set the day your pool opens.

Glad the HOA meeting was just a curious visitor. Nobody needs that headache....

plat.

I still haven't bought anything. Costco opens right down the street in 2 weeks so I'm a bit torn about buying before Sam's runs out or waiting for Costco. Guess I could always buy and return if I find something better.

I have been 1/2 expecting a cease and desist letter from the HOA but I looked over the covenant before we started and we should be fine. We had a nice chat :)

Thanks for the friendly warning, Chief. I did a thorough read of our covenants before we started. We are good!
Unfortunately, the HOA hadn't been on my neighbor to clear the trash out of his truck bed. Seems he's currently using that instead of a trash can :(

I was able to see them from the browser. Not sure why Tapatalk isn't working right. It's just this thread. Anywho...

I love that turtle! He's so cute!!!

Glad that worked for you TM! He IS cute!

I believe Chief is on his neighborhood's HOA board.

I saw these at Sams this weekend as well. That's a GREAT price on the deck box, it's normally like $159.99. I don't know if you have Costco near you but I found similar chairs to the woven chaise lounges for $159.99 at my local store a few weeks ago. I am pairing 2 of them with an umbrella and side table in the middle. I found a cute table with umbrella whole so that it can all be centered on Walmart.com.

Costco opens (just down the street!) on April 21 :)
I think I'm going to go get 2 of the deck boxes..,

I belong to both Sam's and Costco and both are nearby. I generally find better products or better prices at Costco, but watch at the end of the season. Sam's runs clearance sales on patio items that are unbelievable. I bought four of those big market umbrellas for $40 each last fall, and a big outdoor rug for $60.

Wow!!! $40!! I'll be watching for sure. It may be fall before I can afford to buy "non-essentials" anyway. Too many essentials needed right now, including a refrigerator and paying my taxes :(

I'm a big fan of the Lifetime deck boxes that Lowe's sells (also available on Amazon). I recommend you look at them both before buying either. They are very different aesthetically and in methods of construction. Aesthetically, that's personal. From a construction standpoint, I like the Lifetime one better (but it's somewhat of a "feel" thing). Its made of double-sided plastic (air-filled center) which is a really quality product. Keter's, may not be inferior, though it's a hard plastic with a ribbed interior surface. It's splitting hairs I suppose, and Lifetime's is more expensive than the BJ's price. That said, I'd buy the Lifetime again even with the difference. The plainer exterior would be easier to clean and being tan doesn't show dirt/pollen as easily as brown would. So all that just to say, I love the Lifetime storage box. That's all. http://www.lowes.com/pd_322576-75128-60040_1z0ssnf__?productId=3169925&pl=1#img

I may even buy a small Lifetime shed. As "tacky" as a plastic shed may seem near a nice gunite pool and pavilion, they are really well made and look pretty darn good. Pool area funds now are now longer free flowing.

Just a note, guests may not leave easily if you get those anti-gravity chairs (especially so the more they are fighting gravity). I suggest only one or two that you and DH can commandeer.

Thanks for the input on the deck boxes. They will be stored along the side of the house (spa side) that no one sees unless they specifically poke around that side. There's only about 8ft or so between the house and fence- wide enough to need mowing, narrow enough to be unusable- until now :)

I'll take a closer look at the Lifetime boxes for sure. I prefer quality and would rather spend more upfront for something to last longer, if funds permit at the time. This SIZE of the Ketter box is what I like. 150 gallons! It's HUGE!

Our HOA JUST (maybe 2 weeks ago) approved those types of sheds! We are definately going to get one! But that's probably next year. Hubby likes the durable plastic- easy to hose out/off!

Hubby hasn't ever tried an anti-gravity chair -yet! I don't know if we have much room for loungers, so I'm trying to figure what will fit/work best. It's hard right now to figure space since everything is torn up. I'm concerned there will be nothing left to buy at a decent price when I'm ready for them. Good thing about the anti-gravity is that they take up a smaller foot print. Bad thing is you really can't comfortably lay on your stomach, or at least that was the case in the ones I have used.
If we get them, it will only be 2 ;) We already have a love seat, 2 chairs, 2 ottomans, 2 end tables and a coffee table. I think if we can fit 2 of the wicker or sling back loungers and 2 anti-gravity chairs, plus about 4or 5 Adirondack chairs for the firepit, we will have all the seating we can handle...until we do the kitchen and need some bar stools. However, all of this is guesswork until the deck is done and I see how much room we have.

At Costco, if you see a sale on an item you recently bought, just take your receipt in and they will usually give you the difference right on the spot. One of the many reasons I like Costco.

Wow what a journey you've been on. Your PB sounds great and your pool it looking so lovely!

I hope your PB is able to have the new company redo the entire water line tile for you. Makes me want to be out there and watch each step of our build once it happens. I guess you really need to look everything over well to make sure they do it right, but many things I wouldn't know what to look for.

Lightstreams glass, wow oh wow. That is some beautiful tile! I can't wait to see it in your pool and I like the pattern you chose and created for your steps.

We need to start looking at patio furniture too. We need affordable and can hold up to the salt water. We'll check out what Costco has. :)

Sorry, Chief! I missed seeing your comment! That's good to know that Costco will honor a sale price after the purchase. Some retailers won't. I'm looking forward to our Costco opening. I have never been in one and curious to see if they are like or better than Sam's.

Thank you for the kind comments! Yes! It is definately a journey :/ I had thought things would move more speedily and really anticipated our pool would be completed by about this time. Now I think we will be blessed to be swimming around Memorial Day, if that. Our PB is a great guy. Just a few hiccups here and there but good work. And, yes, I'm hoping for a complete redo, but he promised I would love it, so at this point I'm going to trust him.

That LS tile is something I really wanted after seeing Suz's build. I'm hoping I don't regret my decision and that there are no problems with it in the install or durability. I'm a bit anxious about it.

If I had the cash right now, I'd snap up the stuff at Sam's since it's aluminum and the price is pretty good. They are selling the same stuff online for the same price or better if you don't have a store close.

I'm watching your journey as well :)

Blessings to you and enjoy the ride! I hope yours is a more direct route and not the "scenic" route mine has taken.
