Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

I played around with the glass tile for trimming the steps and benches today before I went to work

This is the one I like

The same spacing is used here on the benches and the ledge. Now to tell my PB what I have planned ;)

Great thinking, ladies, but I'm not using the brown or silvery looking ones. I just cut up my samples which included a sample of the SBBS which is steel blue and bronze combined. I was just using those strictly for playing with the pattern markings.

I ordered my LS tile today-finally! Brian said lead time is 3 wks plus a week to ship. I'm hoping it's here sooner, but we'll see...
I ordered it so that it is 2/3 iridescent side up and 1/3 solid side up. I was too chicken to do 100% iridescent which is really what I think I would like but it might be too much. This way it's more than 50/50. I know it will be beautiful either way :)

I love how you chose to line them up! Seeing the first pictures I was all prepared to give my opinion on the diamond layout you chose and I almost cheered out loud when you said it was the one you chose because now I'll get to see it. Thinking about something like that for ours too. So excited for you!!

TM! Me too! I was THRILLED when I read she liked them set out like that! I was already to "vote" on it!

Lol! I'm really glad you both like it! When I first laid them out, I had wanted the straight line like Helen's (I love how hers looks!) but I thought these tiles looked horrible that way. Then I tried the different spacing and found the one I love.
I showed the PB today and he liked it. He didn't bat an eye about my wanting those placed on each step, bench and ledge. Win-win!

So, PB came by to make some notes about upcoming plumbing and electrical. I decided on 2 additional outlets at the back end of the pool toward the fence for future lighting and I pointed out a bunch of areas of grouting that have holes or cracks or missing grout. He also noticed there are height/level issues in several spots and I showed him a broken tile. Some of the grout stuff he made light of but he (without saying much) was clearly not happy about some of the things he was seeing. He said they would take care of it but it would be a couple of weeks yet and there may be a couple more tiles broken in the process. We still have a full case and over 1/2 a second case of tile left.
Plumbing was going to happen tomorrow but we decided to move it to Monday. I also told him it would still be about 4 weeks before the glass tile arrives and he said it was no problem.

Lol! I like how you think! I'm going to let him handle it. He didn't think much of some of the areas I pointed out, but based on their previous work, I trust they will make it right. Plus I threw out the fact that this job didn't match up with the quality and high standards for which they are known. And, I told him once the pool is done, he is welcome to bring customers by to show it off. He commented about how much he liked the steps into the bubbler shelf. Though he may have been annoyed with all my changes and ideas, he likes the pool now.
It's gonna be SO pretty!

Plumbing is supposed to start this afternoon-yay!

But, today is also the day that I tell my PB that I want them to redo the waterline tile. It's a bad job :( Grout has holes in numerous places, grout lines are uneven (some thin, some fat), cuts are bad (not straight, too tight to fill with grout), mastic too high for grout to fill gap, hollow spots under the tile, a broken tile was installed, and it's very obviously not level in several areas. The more I look at it, the more I find wrong with it.
The PB was here Wednesday and saw a few of the areas I was talking about and he noticed how the tile was not level. He wasn't happy about it, but I got the sense that he is going to "fix" rather that redo it. I want it redone.

I'm praying for favor and that HE comes to the conclusion that it needs to be redone in order for it to be the quality job that his company prides itself on.
I'm not good at confrontation. I have been anxious and losing sleep over this. Hubby is sleeping, so it's all me. I'll keep you posted.

Here's a few pictures I took

There's a lot more than this....

nini! I am with you on this. That is a VERY poor job and does need to be redone as in ALL of it :( What time will he be there or are you going to call him? My heart goes out to you as I hate confrontation. It gets my tummy all in knots as well as the not sleeping thing. NOT fun at all.

:sunny:SO here is my FL sunshine shining on you! You got this!:thumleft: Keep you chin up and remain:calm:knowing you are in the right! How could he even try to upset you?? :thequeen: Once he sees ALL of the places he will say  "WOW! That does all need to be redone. I will get a DIFFERENT crew on it right away!

Now if that does not do it just give me his phone number! hehe
