hey everyone! New pool owner everything was finished and good to go in June so still learning. I have a question regarding attached spas/heating/costs and this is specific to central Florida. I'm wanting to know if it would be cheaper energy cost wise to not heat the entire pool during the winter months at all and just heat the spa when I want to use it or if it would be better to keep the entire pool/spa somewhat heated and then heat the spa when using. Sorry if this is a confusing question! TIA

Just heat the spa when you want to use it.

Any BTUs put into heating the pool water are wasted energy.

Yes, +1.............I have the same setup and found #2 answer is spot on. And if you have pool function (I.E. football weekend bash, birthday , kids gathering, etc.) then a day or two before the gathering heat the pool.
