I have a heater/chiller on my new shiny pool and after 30 days I fired it up yesterday. Heated the water up and finally got in today!!

Now, to the point… I am looking through screen logic to see if there is a setting or configuration that would allow me to set a temperature range to maintain (say 85-90 just for this conversation) but from what I see it appears it will only heat/chill when the pump is on via a schedule or manually.

Is there a way to configure it so that when it demands heat/chill is will come on automatically? If this is in the manual, I’m missing it.

It’s probably right in front of me.

When you say "it", do you mean your pump?

Based on your prior paragraph I read it to mean you want the whole system to power up from rest and heat/cool your system triggered by temp changes.

The Ultratemp will regulate temp on its own as you are asking, but the filter pump must always be on to do it. With your VSF, this should already be the case. Running your pump 24/7 at a lower RPM like 1400-1600 should be plenty of flow to keep your ultratemp happy and cost maybe $25 a month for the pump draw.

Be aware -- the signature shows an Easytouch LITE. Very limited functions. Only four schedules/egg timers may be set up.

Thank you, "it" was a generic term for the system to start up, but understand what you are saying. I have been running the pump for 10 hours a day at 2200RPM, but I will back it down to your suggestion and try that, thank you!

Mine does? I don't see that, but I don't believe it is the lite version. I can certainly set more than 4 timers. I just tested and added 6 (then stopped).

You can run the pump 24/7 at low speed for low cost, but you should have the pump increase speed during call for heat to make sure that the flow is adequate for the heater as per the manual specifications.

PSL4 is the Pool/Spa Lite ET4. Still limited to 4 schedules/egg timers, combined.
