Heater bypass setup

I asked my PB for a heater bypass as shown in the TFP Wiki (Heater Bypass - Further Reading). The result is what you see in the picture with the 2-way valve. Obviously not the same as the TFP bypass but how effective is this setup? From what I can see, if the 2-way valve is open some water would go through the heater and the rest should bypass the heater and go straight to the salt cell. I looked at several threads for heater bypass but I couldn't find a plumbing setup like this.

As you say, that's not a bypass.

A bypass should allow you to remove the heater from the system entirely - unscrew the unions. This obviously doesn't allow that. I'd make them do it right.

As stated, that is no heater bypass. Show him this diagram and tell him to follow it to the tee.
