First summer season with the pool , I have the AquaCal heat /chill pump. What is the most effective way to use the chiller to bring the pool temp down a bit? Run at night when the sun is not out ? Run during the day etc ? Expectation of how many degrees I can knock it back? Time it might take to chill ? How far in advance do I need to start the chill process when planning to have guests?

Looking for feedback on the most efficient way to utilize the chiller.

Thx
Jen

It is going to depend upon the BTU size of the chiller and amount of heat you need to remove. The larger the chiller, the faster it will cool. In a 15k pool, you would need to remove 125k BTU for each 1F decrease. So if you have a 125k BTU chiller, you could only remove 1F/hr.
