I've been meaning to ask this question for quite awhile but never had a chance.

On my Hayward ProLogic panel it lists the following:

Chlorine (FC) : 1-3ppm
PH: 7.2-7.5
Total Alkalinity (TA): 80-120ppm
Stabilizer (CYA): 20-30ppm
Calcium (CH): 125-250ppm
Salt: 2700-3400ppm

On TFP it lists the following for SWG on Vinyl pool

Chlorine (FC): 3-5ppm
PH: 7.2-7.8
Total Alkalinity (TA): 60-80ppm
Stabilizer (CYA): 70-80ppm
Calcium (CH) 0-300ppm

So far I've been following the TFP listing but I'm wondering why the big differences between both recommendations

Hayward has not updated their chemistry recommendations in decades.

TFP recognizes the advancements in pool chemistry understanding the CYA and FC interactions.
