Hayward vs Pentair

I’m looking to buy a salt chlorinator soon and I’m wondering if I should go Hayward or Pentair. Thoughts?

Are you a Ford or Chevy or import person? Each person seems to have their favorite brand.

Do you have automation? what brand pump are you using?

As Dave point out... either will work if you don't have an automation system... If you do have an automation system, you will most likely have to buy the same brand of SWCG...

I am a solid Pentair kind of guy, but I believe that the Hayward salt systems have a better diagnostic system for troubleshooting any problems.

If you have a proper pool signature we can answer this question that will offer our best advice for your pool. Without knowing your pool specs we can only give some Ford or Chevy answers.

They all have their pros and cons. Do your research and try to 2x or 3x the cell for your water volume.

I’ve updated my signature.
I am not a Chevy or Ford person, more Nissan and Honda. Leaning towards Hayward as I am in NJ and they are as well, so there’s a great availability of parts. Thanks for all the input.

Local loyalty is good, but parts are easily available for both those vendors.

Just personal experience. My last pentair IC40 lasted for more than 10 years.

Hayward is all sourced in China, Pentair has some parts made there as well, but not all. Pentair pumps imo are worth the extra money
