Hayward SwimPureExtreme w/Omnihub SWP940 replacement and compatibility with controller

I'm looking for advice and better understanding.
In 2020, we overhauled our 1976 single-speed system to complete Hayward system with automation, Variable pump, SwimPure Extreme 40 SWG, and a new filter. We used the local Pinch-A-Penny and registered all the warranty stuff.
Normally, we maintain ourselves, but have been using a pool company over the last two years. They just told me that the SWG needs to be replaced or sent in for warranty. (I honestly do not know how they have been maintaining the SWG.)
My original web screenshots said the "Extreme" had a 5year warranty, but Hayward registration shows only 4 years (6 months ago).
The rest of the equipment still goes until 2025....

Questions:
Looking through past posts, I can't determine if this model was a one-off or what? My recollection was that the salt cell was going to last LONGER if I went with this model. What is the life expectancy of the SWG supposed to be?
2. Is there a replacement cell available that is compatible with the rest of the (electronic/controller) system from a trusted vendor?
3. If I need to use the original replacement for the Extreme, what am I looking for and where? I can't find this thing anywhere.
Cursory search shows a CircuPool Gen15 from DiscountSaltPool may work, but the SwimPureExtreme isn't explicitly listed.

Thanks for taking the time!!

T-15 Cell Types.

The Hayward T-Cell-15 and Hayward T-Cell-15-SWP are the same thing. The T-15 has 13 Titanium Plates, 150 x 63mm.

The T-Cell-15 has a 3-year warranty.

The Hayward T-Cell-15-SWP is a Swimpure branded cell, which has a 2 or 3-year warranty. You would need to verify with the seller to be sure.

The first number of the serial number is the length of the warranty.

The TCELL940 is a T-15 "long life" cell with a 4-year warranty.

A T-15-W is a warranty replacement cell with a 1-year warranty. It's not designated as a retail cell. It's supposed to be used as a replacement for a cell that fails under warranty. Some places sell warranty cells as regular cells.

T Cell Authentication Error.

It seems Hayward has implemented authentication for genuine cells with their latest cell models.

We think that the new software uses 2 wires to "Authenticate" the cell to try to prevent generic aftermarket cells from being used. Likely the yellow and orange wires in the T cell connector (pins 7 & 8) are the authentication wires.

If your Hayward system is rejecting a Hayward genuine cell you need to call Hayward Support for assistance. Right now we do not know a way around the authentication.

Hayward only authorizes online sales of products starting with "W3".

They enforce a minimum price.

Generic cells might not work with newer equipment due to an authentication chip.

To get the performance of the cell, divide the instant salinity by the actual salinity. If the ratio is less than 75%, it's time for a new cell. For example, 2,000 (instant salinity) ÷ 3,600 (measured salinity with a test kit)=56%. Check the cell and clean it if necessary. If that doesn't work, it's time for a new cell.

How many gallons are in your pool?

Cells get 6,000 to 10,000 generating hours. Four years of life generates 1,500 to 2000 hours per year, which can be 5 hours to 7 hours of generating per day over 300 days.

About right in Florida.

Have the cell and salinity tested at a testing station.

Clutch!
This info is what I can sink my teeth into. THANK YOU.

Ironically, I’m hoping not to get duped from our manufacturer and their agents.

The pool guy says the board may also be at issue and advised we get a Hayward guy out.

If it *is* a board issue, is that looking at dropping in another brand SWG (with controller) into the Omni system?

Replied in your other reply.
I’ll be able to get all this down once I’m finally back in town at the end of the year. This advice has helped a lot.
I’m just really looking forward to (me and the fam) jumping in our pool again.

Repair guy is here. Says out of warranty. But he will replace with an S3 40. That’s a whole other naming convention now….
$1300 plus tax.
Our pump is corroded and water breech and under warranty, so he’s refurbing it.

When was it installed?
2020 June
They sold us on the
TCELLS340 AQUARITE S3 SALT CELL 40K for $1399+tax. Even the local shop told us to forego that pricing and just get BlueWorx (not sure on the company or spelling). But the technician who replaced the MaxFlo VS during the service call convinced the husband to go with the with updated S3 Aquarite….
