Heya,

I picked up a Hayward through-wall skimmer for my rectangular Coleman pool. I’ve watched several installation videos and I’m not worried about that part but the videos were on round pools that didn’t seem to bulge on as steep an angle as mine.

Since so much will be below the water line I’m not worried about starving the unit for water, but I am curious if there’s anything that should stop me installing it like this?

Measure twice, ask the forums, measure twice again… lol

The floating door will set the level correctly.

Just make sure it'll end up floating in a reasonable spot during operation.

Perfect thanks. How much of the opening should be above the waterline? I’m thinking to be on the safe side I’ll try and get a one inch opening at the top when the water level is at the highest point I’d normally have it. It’s a bit of a balance between being on the stitched part of the liner and being too low such that it’d be fully underwater all the time.

With it level I run my water around the upper side screw and have to fill when it gets near lower side screw. I've had the water close to the top of the opening and it still skimmed ok but not great.
