Just went out and saw my pad was real wet and pool had lost some water looked down in my heat pump and found this any info on repair ability will help thanks
I agree and I talked to the repair rep he said he thought it was freeze damage (the unit was winterized and was empty ) I called Hayward and they said that they don’t believe it’s freeze damage so not I am just waiting till july 9th for them to come look at it I should have put a bypass in my plumbing when I did it but that will be happening tonight so I can run my pump
Is this an electric heat pump? If so what is the brand and model number? My heat exchanger in my unit cracked in a couple places from not being able to get water out I am guessing. It was really busted up. So I am looking for a new pumps. I did buy just the exchanger and that alone was 700. To install it looks like a nightmare since its on the bottom of everything. I dont see how you can replace these heat exchangers.
come to find out this is a defect from Hayward and they are going to replace the heat exchanger they said they have had some ones that did this and they are not going to recall them but they will fix ones that this happens to

What model do you have? We bought our heat pump March 2019 but due to pool build from heck never got to run it last year. We tried to open our pool today and heat pump was leaking horrible and we had to have them reclose pool. I’m devastated. This pool
Nightmare is never ending. I was on hold with Hayward from 12-6pm and they disconnected me trying to figure out what to do. I’m hoping I don’t have to fight with them to honor warranty nor will I have to wait 3 months to do it. We did have pool/heat pump winterized professionally so I know it wasn’t freezing water.
sorry to give you all that just to ask model that has defect lol I’m seriously going through post traumatize pool build.

good luck, I was just emailing with the company and if your not the original owner they said they won't cover any "warranty" work even though it's a faulty product or part.
