Hey TFP!
Read a lot of info on here but running out of ideas from other posts so wanted to sign up/ask for help.
I moved into a house with a pool that has a Hayward H250ED2 heater. Works great (when it works). It runs for a random amount of time (between 10-30 minutes, sometimes it runs all day without shutting off) and then shuts off with the IF code. I don't totally understand this code because the heat is for sure igniting, and heating the water (return is warm and the pool temp gradually increases). Turning it to standby, and then back to Spa or Pool mode kicks it right back on and it runs again for a while.
It's an aging unit so my fear is it's something wacky with electronics (getting wet or something?). My second thought it perhaps the wind is somehow blowing it out and then the unit is thinking it failed to light? Is this something that could even happen? It doesn't have the high wind stack but I can't imagine this is something the previous owners put up with for however long they lived here.
So far I've been able to heat the pool by starting/restarting the heater which is just a touch annoying so thought I'd start here - any steps/advice on next steps would be appreciated. Ever heard of something like this?
