Hayward Filter Valve Handle Pin sliding out

Hi everyone, I have a Hayward sand filter. The filter head (multiport) was replaced last year and everything was working great. However this year, the "pin" on the valve handle started sliding out. I can push it back in, but is it normal for the pin to do this? I only turn the handle in one direction (clockwise). See pictures below of the pin. My old filter head did the same thing but I figured it was because it was very old. Now I'm starting to wonder if I am doing something when turning the handle to cause the pin to come out?

Thanks in advance for any help or insights!!

Try again to post your pics so we can see your situation.

Its just held in by friction. The handle may have become worn. Some silicone sealant (not grease) in the handle and then push the pin back in may hold it.
Thanks for the reply! So it's not caused in any way in how I am turning the handle? I always depress down fully then turn in one direction (clockwise). I just want to make sure I am not damaging it somehow. The filter head is quite new, it was replaced last year.

Have never seen it happen on a new valve/valve head installation. Turning the valve shouldn't have any effect on that part, but it is a pool, and pools are strange. May have been a manufacturing error.
