Hayward Colorlogic alternatives?

I’ve got a pair of Hayward Colorlogic 4.0 lights and neither works. One does nothing, one trips the gfi breaker when activated. Looking up direct replacements, these things are around $1100+ each to replace these days, and reviews are TERRIBLE, with most saying they last a year or two at most, and warranty support is nonexistent.

Are there cheaper options for replacements? Either other brands or a way to retrofit to something cheaper? Now that I have the OmniPL controls, I’d like to play with lights and have timers for the lights at night, but not willing to drop $2500+ for the feature.

Any thoughts on better ways to do this?

OUCH!!! Yeah I would not get them again that is for sure!

Now what I would do is get a pretty 3post outdoor light to put by the pool to offer light. Easy to do and "fix" if needed. You could also put up something to hold string light around the pool. Just thinking outside the pool box for you.

Hmm, suppose using the electrical locations for controlling landscaping lighting instead is an option. Was hoping for some sort of cheaper retrofit or brand that would fit the niche and NOT cost $1200ish per light, though. Something pretty awesome looking about having the pool lit from within. I’ve got flood lights on the house that light up enough of the backyard to swim safely, but with the automation now allowing me to remotely control the pool lights, it was intriguing. I just don’t swim at night enough to justify that crazy cost, and certainly not for lights with terrible reviews and poor longevity. How is Hayward putting out such a crappy product?
