Hayward CO2 Dispenser Location

Has anyone installed the Hayward CO2 dispenser? I have a question about where to install the injector port. The instructions call for it to be installed in the bottom of the return line, but my return line rests on the floor. Can it be installed on the top of the pipe and still function properly?

I have worked on a few, but no hayward. Chem-trol is the brand I usually saw, and their injectors do not specify to be mounted under the pipe. Hayward may have an injector design that requires it be oriented that way, I am not sure, but if they make a point of it, you should probably do it. At the very least, call Hayward and ask. This is not something you want to mess up, if you know what I mean.
It does make things pretty darn inconvenient, huh?
Can you post a pic of your plumbing? Maybe we can come up with a workable solution.

Thanks, I have a message in to Hayward. My workaround would be to cut out about 24-30" of pipe and replumb higher off the floor but I'd rather not do that unless I have to.

I understand.
That looks to require a drilled and tapped hole in the pipe for installation. Might want to do that before you glue the pipe in.
