Uncovered my above ground pool 4 days ago. Have shocked it three times, but it's still green and cloudy. Should I shock it again? Or what? Thanks in advance for any advice.

The cornerstone of TFP is testing. Ya gotta know what is going on with the chemistry to know what to do.
How are you testing your chemistry? (i.e. do you have a test kit?) If not, get one ordered today. Link-->Test Kits Compared

If you have one of the good test kits, post your results here and we'll help with next steps, and get you started on the SLAM.
If you don't, add 5ppm of liquid chlorine a day (will keep algae from growing) until you get your test kit.
I used a test strip yesterday and it didn't register any chlorine, which I find hard to believe. I also put a skimmer sock in yesterday and it has lots of brown stuff in it this morning. ??? Does that help?

Feel free to share pics, but we can assure you test (guess) strips do just that- guess. You're going to need a good test kit to get this under control. Also be sure to update your signature with all of your pol and equipment tails just like we did. If you are on a well tell us that too. If you recall a list of items you typically put in the water, it also help. We can get you through this!
Those test strips are at their peak of accuracy right now. Green pool and zero chlorine.
Guess I don't know what you call a "good test kit". I have city water. I have never had this issue in the 14 summers of having this pool. I always just shock it and put in algeacide.

See below for what we are referring to. Woody was also referring to the TF-100. Make no mistake, here at TFP we don't sell products nor care where you get a proper test kit, but for accurate advice we need accurate testing so that you don't waste time, money, or chemicals. You have a short swim season, so perhaps you've been lucky with past treatments and algaecides (which we only recommend at closing), but regardless accurate water testing is a must.
