Green algae

I must be missing something. Inground vinyl, 12,000 gal., Hayward pump, sand filter, liquid chlorine. Pool crystal clear and well balanced. CYA may be a tad high. I have maintained the pool in an over chlorinated state adding about a quart per day. How is it possible that green algae still grows on bottom and sides??

From your other posts you do not have a proper test kit. So how do you ensure you are following the FC/CYA Levels?

That is the problem then? Algae can still grow if CYA is high and FC not high enough?

Likely. Look at the chart in my signature. The higher the CYA, the higher you have to keep your FC.
