That is really old.

Time to replace the light.

Purex was sold to Pac Fab in 1994, so the light is probably over 30 years old.

For safety, you should replace the light and make sure that it is on a good GFCI.

A Pentair Amerilite will fit the niche. The Amerilite niche became the "standard" light niche due to how many have been used and virtually every full-size light is designed to fit them. Sta-Rite/SwimQuip is one exception.
