gas heater question

I have a Sta-rite Max-E-Therm natural gas heater.

Where is the sensor that controls when the heater has reached the desired temperature setting? Inside the heater itself or elsewhere?

thanks James ... do you know how or if I can determine if my Sta Rite Max-E-Therm natural gas heater is the 200K, 333K or 400K model.

ooops ... sorry I forgot to mention that the label is obliterated.

Look carefully all around the heater for a label.

What issues are you having?

If you watch your gas meter, you can equate the cubic feet per hour to btu/hr.

For example, a 400,000 btu/hr heater will use about 400 cubic feet of natural gas per hour.
