So I did the pool calculator and it is telling me to add 23oz of muriatic which is fine because i have a jug. Do i have to mix the acid with water first or just dump it in the pool?
You dont have to mix the acid but there is nothing wrong with doing that
lower the jug or cup or whatever you are using down in front of a return and just above the water to minimize splashing and tilt and pour slowly. The water fromn the return will disperse the acid. it just takes a minute.
Nothing wrong however of grabbing a 5 gallon bucket of water an pouring the acid into that. Just one more bit of "mixing" though and one more chance for an accident
You came to the right place for help. Lots of experts here with 1000s of success stories for clearing up pools.
It really isnt difficult to do.
Pouring acid, bleach and other dissolved chemicals is like a game of skill. You slowly pour right above the return and aim the descending column of chemicals to intersect with the turbulent water so it is rapidly mixed. It's like riding a bike, once you've got it, you've got it!
