From a Basic Lawn to Private Resort - We Have A Pool! Controlling Pollen...

Spa is filling 🥳, but they didn't tell me they were about to fill it, so I missed the meter before fill. I will try to gauge against our last few water bills and take the average and subtract the final fill number from the average number to see if I can guess the gallons for the spa. I'm keeping my eye out for pool fill so I can get a photo of the meter.

You can estimate 80 gallons per person per day for personal usage. Also, the area of a spa is the easiest to figure out because it is a square/rectangular shape and is like a donut. So I be happy to help with that if you have the dimensions. Although the pool is the one to really track. Also do not let the spa overflow to pool with the pool being empty to prevent streaking down the plaster.

Pool is filling
Another idea is to take a snapshot of the water meter at certain depths, such as when water reaches bottom step, when water covers the bottom step, etc. This is helpful then to know the gallons at each step in the event you have to drain the pool for some reason, then you know for example, the top of the 3rd step is x gallons, or the top of the seat in the deep end is x gallons.

Man this is looking amazing. I don't know if I missed it, but how much did this project end up running you? I'm in the middle of trying to get some designers to come over and get quotes. We have a '5 year, 150K renovation' (Kitchen, firepit, spa, whole 9) idea in mind, but I've been having so many issues I want to see if I can't move it up soon, so trying to 'best guess' some estimates.

How long can you bare not getting in? I dumped 2 jugs of bleach in on fill day and took a dive. :censored:

My husband wanted to sit in the spa yesterday with our daughter, but I told him if he does he can't allow water to go over the spillway or it will stain the plaster. He had his swim trunks on and everything and rolled his eyes at me like a kid and sighed and went back in our bedroom 😂

Thank you. All in we're close to $180k. Only regret is not doing it 7 years ago when we were building our home, it would've cost us a whole lot less.

It's raining this morning and I'm really praying it doesn't affect our plaster with raindrop stains😖. We are projected to have rain the better part of the day today 🤧🙄, so I'm sure many of the plans for the crews to come in today and work in the yard are now altered🤦🏾‍♀️.

8:50am water meter reading at top of third step and nearing the seating benches:

I turn the water down to a slower flow overnight so that we can sleep and between 6am and 8am I've been turning it back up to full speed. I saw a frog taking a dip this morning around 6:30am 😄. I believe we may have a filled pool sometime today, especially since it's raining. Oh, I've been skimming leaves and pine needles too. I'm putting a betta solar skimmer on my wish list now 😂.

Fill started at 4:14pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023
Currently 1 day, 17 hours, and 20 minutes in and counting...(basically 41 hours in)
