Any advice on these fittings? The hose and the smooth nipple it slides on leaks no matter how tight I get the clamp or attempt to use Teflon tape even though there’s no threads...
You can probably get an adapter for that thread with a hose barb at the other end. Don't know what you have there in size otherwise I'd find a link for you.
It has the standard hose (1 1/2" that slides on to this piece that is 1.25"-1.5". The threaded sides attach to the pump, filter and bottom of skimmer which leaves the smooth side for the hoses. No matter what I get a leak at the return, the pump and filter where I have the metal clamps.
You could try using some silicone around the hose and fitting. I bought some silicone from the local hot tub place that you can use underwater so I would think it would work for this situation if there is water in the fittings/hose.
tape won't work with clamps. also it may be unintuitive, but back off just a hair on how tight you are going - too tight will leak as bad as not tight enough. there is almost always a sweet spot with clamps. better yet go to all pvc, it lasts longer and fits better.
