Happy Wednesday!
Update after 2 weeks of SLAM. Long story short, I'm not done yet. The vacuuming process is slow, so there's still a good amount left. That said, I had another night of no chlorine loss, so yay for consistent wins.
Regarding the vacuuming process. While there's still a lot to go (90% dirt/sand, 10% algae/calcium grossness), I'd say that I've gotten a solid 80% of the crud out. But it's a really long process. Pretty much every time I've vacuumed long enough, I need to rinse the filter and all connected parts and pieces. That makes each time trying to vacuum take significantly longer. I don't think I should vacuum to waste (tell me if I'm wrong, please) because the water loss would likely be significant since there is so much left, and I don't want to deal with the chemical impact of that as I've got a good thing going in that respect. Are there any other tricks that can help me get more vacuum time without losing pretty much all the pressure from my filter and needing to "reset?"
Other than that, I continue to make friends with every employee in the online order pickup area of Fleet Farm, where I get my every-other-day order of shock.
