Hi - I'm a first-time spa owner with no previous pool/spa experience - other than being in them. It's been a real challenge with well water and whole-house softening system (high TA and pH). They say don't use softened water. Well, I had tried bypassing the softener and that was a disaster. I've had brown, orange, green, blue-green, and yellow water. I've now drained it 4 times in maybe a month or so and used it twice, briefly. Metal-Free and several days of running the filter 24 hours/day to clear out the yellow. I was determined not to drain it again. Anyway, it finally looks almost perfect, just slightly blue/green from 0.1 ppm of copper I believe. Still working on that. What a great forum and repository you've got here. Lots of useful information. (By the way, the folks at Natural Chemistry were very helpful when I reached out to them about Metal Free.) Thank you.
