First time pool opening - how to increase CL levels with SWG

Hi there, I just opened my pool for the first time and
tested the water using a TF100 kit.
Test results are:
CL - 1.5
CYA - 50
PH - 7.6

Do I use bleach to increase the CL level or liquid chlorine instead?
I have a SWG which may not be building the CL level enough.
The weather is also very cool right now - if that could make a difference.

Thanks,
T

Bleach is liquid chlorine. Typically at a lower concentration, but the same.

How long are you running your pump, and what is your SWG % set at?

If you have the bleach/LC then add enough to raise your FC to 4ppm. Then your SWG just needs to maintain that level.

Your signature does not say what size SWG cell you have. So we don't know the capability of it.

1 full gallon of 6% bleach should raise your FC up 4.7ppm. With a SWG you always want to bring the FC up to your desired goal level first with liquid chlorine or some other form, then let the SWG work to *maintain* it there. The SWG works too slowly to bring it up...before you risk an algae party.
