First Time Doing a Full Close

I'm going to build similar return extensions but with another 90 to the yard for the spring. Then I can open and send all the antifreeze to the yard. It doesn't hurt the pool but why dump a couple gallons in when it's easy to shoot out ?

Currently I blow the returns backk towards the pad at opening to get most of that line clear of antifreeze and send the first blast to waste when firing up the pump for the suction side. It'll be easier to blast it all put the returns to the yard with extenders.

Just out of curiosity, if I had messed up and not air locked, would I have had to redo blowing all the lines out or just those two returns?

Just those two. The pipe water would have filled to the level of the pool and not gone airborne at the pad into the equipment and out the suction side.
