Sorry you had issues with the 5mL test. I hadn't tested with 10mL since I got the syringe, but after reading you had an issue, I decided to test it both ways.
Came up with 6 drops at 5mL and 11 with 10mL. Maybe at your high FC things get whacky?? When adding the powder with 5mL, I barely use any. The scoop is full, but flat across the top.
You can. Test your CYA when you return and adjust your SLAM level FC accordingly.
Load the chlorinator? Turn the pump off I guess, I do not have one! I would think two or at most three pucks is all you want to use.
Pump needs to run to chlorinate. I'm afraid to leave it stagnate at a high FC. Perhaps that is unfounded?
Your FC loss is some to the sun but mostly it is consuming algae / organics. It should slow down after you get back and get things back on track.
