Figured my pH would've dropped more. About 3.5 pounds of lo and slo.
backflushed and aerated a little this morning. Just started adding more water after a rain last night.
Need to vacuum or throw the bug in before the bio demand goes too high.
FC dropped to 5
CC 0.5 (was 0.0)
TA 200 (was 250)
pH <7.5 (was >7.5)
Those are good numbers indeed. You can swim. However now that you've listed your CYA as possibly 60, you don't ever want to let FC go below 5. You're in my territory now. That's my current CYA. So I always keep my FC around 7-8. If I ever get to 6 I'm already nervous.
Thanks. Water felt great. Numbers will change tomorrow. Vacuumed and some of the pollen and stuff got in after I rolled the cover off and back on. Such is life.
It will be an on-going chess match for a while I'm afraid. pH lowered to 7.0-7.2 to kick the TA in the rear, then aerating like crazy to pump-up the pH again so you can do it all again. You'll be a pro at it before too long.
They each have their own issues, but I'd say a low pH at 6.8 or below has the potential for more immediate effects. The high TA "should" try to let that pH rise.
Anything I should be worried about or doing anything differently with my PH shooting up like this since three days ago? Have not added anything other then bleach and a lots of swimming.
Your pH is climbing quickly primarily because your TA is so high. To assist in keeping pH lower longer, you need to lower TA by following the TFP Pool School - Lower Total Alkalinity page. It takes a bit of time and effort, but it works.
