Just curious, with the fourth of July so close, has their been any studies or available information on the effects of all that gunpowder possibly landing in your pool? Will it effect the chemistry or balance?

None that i know of. Just don't throw fireworks in your pool and you'll be ok ...
I think I agree with Matt here
I have had plenty of spent debris fall in my pool thanks to neighbors. It is the only thing they do all year that annoys me, so I try not to get too bothered by it but... Anyway, a spent shell or ash will be practically sterile due to being in the middle of a hot explosion so the only concern will be removal. Shells and other cardboard debris will need to be netted out, ash will be filtered out. Shouldn't affect the chemistry in any measurable way unless your pool becomes the drop zone for the entire show.
