Finishing my pool

So my pool builder has disappeared close to the end of the job. Phone number is disconnected and I have traced him to TX, I’m in CA.

I would just like to finish off my pool but need the following done
1. Install SWG also need to procure
2. Install my aqua link system ..I have the parts
3. Connect the electrical

Contractor installed the PebbleTech and filled the pool stating they would be out the next day to finish install But never showed. We jury rigged our sump pump to circulate the pool with chemicals after about 4 days but have no way to filter the system. Pool water has been in place for 12 days now .. not sure how long this rigged process will work.

I believe everything else is done except final inspection (which I can handle if necessary).

All installed equipment is Jandy.

Any thoughts or helpful suggestions?





Does anyone have a recommendation for getting another contractor to do this work in Long Beach CA

Welcome to TFP.
Sorry that has happened to you. Did you make final payment before he skipped town?

We can talk through most everything you need to do but it would be good to have someone there that could help. Have you considered calling a pool service company? (not a builder but someone that does maintenance, etc.) they may be able to give you hands on help.

Do you plan to install a Jandy SWCG? Is your AquaLink Automation set up for that? You may want to open the cabinet and take a photo so we know what we are dealing with.

Is the main electrical from your house panel run to the Jandy Automation box? Again a photo would help.

You have 2 pumps - do you have a water feature or was the 2nd pump set up for spa jets?

Also, tell us if you have 1 or 2 skimmers, a main drain, - maybe a photo of your pool and spa would help.

At least you know enough to move the water. Have you been adding any chlorine to it during this time?

yes unfortunately it came to a point that the final payment was made.
I am looking into a pool service .. my landscapers idea.
also filed on his contractors bond and board so will probably get some help here.
i do have the money necessary to start over if I have to ..just makes me angry.

the Aqua link is here in boxes but not installed at all.
The electrical is run to the main electrical panel but have not verified if it is actually connected. My neighbor is an electrician I can have him take a look. I also have access to electricIan’s from work for any necessary connecting done, they run high voltage stuff so they could handle this if I need them. Might also be able to get some help from my plumbers at work If needed. Just none of these guys work on pools ..it’s all large equipment install.

I have 2 pumps..you are correct second pump is for the hot tub. But there is a bond wall with two water falls.

Kimkats yes we have been adding chemicals and circulating with our sump pump. We put the pump into the deep end and move the hose back and forth from shallow end to the hot tub after a couple hours . Water is tested every day and chemicals added as needed. No filtration is going on.

had a pool several decades ago so this helps the process
